Accounts Assistant / Associate - Corporate Services Executive / Senior Executive (Year 1-2)

In our Firm, the designation for the Accounts Assistant / Associate role is referred to Corporate Services Executive / Senior Executive. 

Job Description:

With supervision from the senior, managers and partners, your primary focus is to ensure that the accounting, corporate secretarial, tax and related assignments are executed based on the relevant professional requirements.

You will have the opportunity to use of robotic process automation (RPA) technology to prepare reports and schedules that are to be delivered to the clients and other external parties.

You will also contribute as a team member, assuming shared responsibilities, providing support and managing effective communication with fellow colleagues on a regular basis.

Finally, you are responsible for developing and maintaining professional relationships with clients.

  1. Work on accounting, corporate secretarial, tax and related assignments under the supervision of seniors, managers and partners, to ensure that these assignments are executed based on the relevant professional requirements; 
  2. Assist to prepare full set of management accounts and consolidated financial statements, business activity reports and forecasts for clients and other external stakeholders;
  3. Perform financial accounting and corporate reporting activities;
  4. Work as a team member by sharing responsibilities, providing support and maintaining communication with colleagues on an effective and efficient basis; 
  5. Use relevant Infocomm technology systems and tools effectively for data analysis; and 
  6. Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients.

 

Career Roles and Responsibilities:

As an accounts executive / associate, your primary roles and responsibilities are set out below:

  1. Liaising with clients to obtain supporting documents for the preparation of the management accounts.
  2. Carry out specific accounting work allocated.
  3. Identifying and highlighting accounting issues.
  4. Record and process all business transactions in the accounting system using double-entry accounting.
  5. Ensure that accurate data are entered into the accounting system.
  6. Process payroll transactions, if required.
  7. Retrieve reports from the accounting system management or audit purposes.
  8. Assist to prepare period-end management accounts such as profit or loss statement, statement of financial statements and relevant supporting schedules.
  9. Drafting of unaudited financial statements.
  10. Assist in accounting related administrative work, such as archiving of accounting files. 
  11. Keep abreast with professional standards when providing accounting services. 

 

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Accountancy or a professional qualification under the ACCA, ICAEW and SCA schemes
  • Proactive, committed and a team player
  • Possess initiative and ability to work independently
  • Open to no experience candidates and candidates with 1-2 years of relevant experience.
