Location: Harbourfront

The Accounting Specialist is based in Singapore Office but also supports finance function in Shanghai office as needed.

Job Responsibilities include:

  1. Responsible for the maintenance of the general and subsidiary ledgers to ensure all accounting transactions are promptly recorded, classified and analyzed
  2. Coordinate and review the reconciliation of major account balances to subsidiary ledgers at month-end close
  3. Timely preparation of reconciliation of general ledger accounts on monthly basis within established system to verify the validity and accuracy of all transactions booked
  4. Verifies monthly accounting inputs, product movements, and product reconciliation according to accounting principles and policies
  5. Review detailed purchase list for all product lines and prepare monthly summary of inventory for different product lines
  6. Charge out expenses to regional JV according to approved agreement
  7. Perform accurate calculation of monthly retrofit adjustments for related product lines
  8. Reviews commission income report and prepares third party commission expense report on a monthly basis
  9. Handles the fixed asset function to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
  10. Prepare the half-yearly computation of G&A charge-out to regional JV
  11. Prepare quarterly review of Lower of Cost or Market Value of inventory to determine potential write-down
  12. Responsible for preparation of annual statutory accounts
  13. Handles queries from external auditors during audits and preparation of audit schedules
  14. Participates in the annual operating and capital budgets for planning and control purposes, includes addressing queries from various stakeholders including product line managers, department heads of functional groups etc and review reasonableness to ensure budgets are prepared in accordance with corporate guidelines
  15. Preparation and coordination of SOX key control testing documentations to ensure internal control processes work effectively
  16. Assists in handling new lease contracts within established system to ensure compliance with USGAAP and FRS 116 standard for lease accounting
  17. Perform physical inventory count and other special assignments, as directed
  18. Posting of vendor invoices as and when necessary

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 2 years public accounting experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Systems – Excel, Power Point and Word
  • Strong team player but also able to work independently and accurately with an eye for details
