Junior Accountants are responsible for assisting in managing, processing and troubleshooting various accounts and transactions.

They support the financial department by performing day-to-day tasks that add up to accurate financial statements.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Assisting in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.
• Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes.
• Maintaining and creating organized and up-to-date financial records.
• Assisting with tax audits and tax returns.
• Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Working with bookkeeping software, online spreadsheets, and databases.
• Utilizing database software to organize financial account information.
• Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
• Learning how to work as part of the admin team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company or clients.
• Processing and preparing invoices, and following up on late payments.
• Assisting with other accounting matter, as needed.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a junior accountant.
• Great organizing abilities.
• Great attention to detail.
• Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen.
• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g. Infotech Accounting Software).
• Qualifications (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) is a plus but not required.
