We are seeking an experienced Accountant to support the Alliance First Consortium ("the Consortium") in Singapore. This is a hands-on accounting role focused on financial reporting, consolidation support, compliance, and audit coordination, working closely with the School Principal and Management team.
The role is operational in nature and does not carry overall finance leadership responsibilities. The Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements across the Consortium.
Key Responsibilities
Handle and support the day-to-day accounting operations of the Consortium, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Prepare and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing and reporting, ensuring timely and accurate submission of financial information at both entity and group levels.
Assist in group consolidation activities, working with finance personnel to ensure accuracy and consistency of consolidated figures for reporting purposes.
Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents for management reporting and audits.
Support statutory and regulatory reporting, including compliance with relevant accounting and funding requirements.
Assist with budgeting and tracking of expenses, including monitoring variances and highlighting issues to Management.
Coordinate with auditors, tax agents, government bodies, and external service providers when required, including preparation of audit and tax documentation.
Support accounting-related matters and ad-hoc projects arising from operational or regulatory needs of the Consortium.
Perform any other accounting or administrative duties as assigned by Management.
Job Requirements
Degree in Accountancy, ACCA, or equivalent qualification.
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in full-set accounts; experience with multiple entities or consolidation support is an advantage.
Prior experience in grant accounting or government funding will be an added advantage.
Meticulous, organised, and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of accountability.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Able to work independently and manage timelines, especially during month-end and year-end closing.
Strong problem-solving and basic analytical skills.
