Description

This is an Energy Trading Group, with a well-diversified business interests in Oil, Petrochemicals, Gas, Power and shipping. As part of the Shipping business' growing presence in Singapore and Asia, there is now a newly created opportunity for a high calibre Senior Accountant for the division.

Role

Reporting to Head of Finance (Asia), the Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in leading monthly, quarterly financial reporting and closing matters for the shipping entities and financials pertaining to the vessel operations. This includes taking charge of voyage accounting, analysing P&L for time charter, spot and pool voyages. The Senior Accountant will also actively work with colleagues cross functionally including commercial, operations, and will also act as a key liaison between group finance and external auditors. As part of growth ambitions and the group's continuous drive for process improvement, there will be ample opportunities to participate in global and regional finance and controlling processes.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent and a degree in accountancy, business or finance, with 5- 7 years' experience in accounting within shipping. Experience in IMOS is critical to the success of this role. You will be described as having a strong grasp of IFRS, statutory reporting, and MTM accounting concepts. Those with a hands-on experience in shipping will have a distinct advantage. You are highly collaborative, commercial and an effective business communicator.
