Description

This is an Energy Trading Group, with a well-diversified business interests in Oil, Petrochemicals, Gas, Power and shipping. As part of their growth ambitions, there is now a newly created opportunity for a high calibre Senior Accountant for their shipping and commodities business.

Role

Reporting to Head of Finance (Asia), the Senior Accountant will lead monthly, quarterly financial reporting and closing matters for several active entities, including those of energy trading and shipping. Analysing trading and accounting P&L, along with supporting cross-functional teams with insights. He/ She will also act as a key liaison between group finance and external auditors. As part of growth ambitions and the group's continuous drive for process improvement, there will be ample opportunities to participate in global and regional finance and controlling processes.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent and a degree in accountancy, business or finance, with 5- 7 years' experience in accounting within commodities and/ or shipping. You will be described as having a strong grasp of IFRS, statutory reporting, and MTM accounting concepts. Those with a hands-on experience in shipping will have a distinct advantage. You are highly collaborative, commercial and an effective business communicator.
