Key Responsibilities:

• Managing the annual audit process for the trading PnL - includes providing high level explanations of PnL recognition and requested supporting documents

• Providing management information in regards to equity being utilised by each trading desk

• Reviewing new deals from a trade accounting perspective, ensuring that PnL can be correctly recognised and aligns with IFRS requirements

• Providing write ups of long term structured deals, covering compliance with accounting standards

• Being the focal point for company's compliance with government financial incentives, including managing GTP (Global Trader Programme) reporting, and submission of necessary financials and statistics surveys to government agencies

• Continually improving and automating trade accounting processes to reduce risk of manual errors

• Managing the daily trade accounting processes for the Asian entities, including:

• Posting and reconciliation of all exchange margins - ensuring correct recognition of initial margin and variation margin, and that the equity used is correctly allocated to the traders

• Balance sheet reconciliation and ensuring correct recognition of trade related assets and liabilities

• Ensuring daily trading profit and loss is correctly recorded on the accounting ledger, and reconciles back to the trading/risk systems

• Managing month end close for Asia Trade Accounting, including:

• Finalising and reviewing closing monthly trade accounting margin for all physical and derivatives trades and structures, making necessary adjustments and using technical accounting judgement to ensure PnL is recorded in accordance with IFRS and PRC accounting standards

• Ensuring correct recognition of closing inventory, and validating marks used to price the inventory

• Reviewing all unrealised trade related PnL, and recording to the accounting ledger in accordance with IFRS MTM Accounting regulations

• Partnering with market risk to validate PnL reserves and understand key PnL performance drivers

• Reconciliation of trade related intercompany balance sheets, and posting of intercompany accruals

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Tertiary qualification(s) in Accounting, or a related field

• Experience in a commodity trading environment

• Ability to work independently but also as part of a local as well as international team

• Strong relationship building and communications skills.

• Effective planning, organisational and time management skills

• Ability to analyse problems and deliver effective solutions in a timely manner

• Advanced Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel Skills
