About the role

Currently, we are seeking a results-oriented and highly motivated Business Development Executive/ Asst Manager (Outbound) to join our dynamic, tight-knit sales team. Reporting directly to the CRO, this is a critical, high visibility outbound sales role focused on proactively identifying and securing new business opportunities with clients who are net-new to Blackbox.

The ideal candidate will be a tenacious self-starter with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets, ideally within the market research or a related B2B services industry. You will be responsible for outreach and for landing new accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting and Lead Generation: Focusing exclusively on outbound sales, you will proactively identify and qualify potential clients through various channels, including strategic cold calling, targeted email outreach, social selling via LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and industry networking.
  • Messaging: Craft highly personalized and value-driven outbound communications sequences (emails, LinkedIn messages, etc.) that resonate with target prospects, leading to successful meeting conversions.
  • Sales Pipeline Management: Utilize Salesforce to maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities and record your sales activities. Leverage this data to provide regular forecasts to management.
  • Consultative Selling: Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand prospective clients' business challenges and research objectives. Effectively articulate how our market research solutions (e.g., surveys, focus groups, data analytics) can provide the critical insights they need.
  • Proposal Development and Presentations: Assist in proposal development to address specific client needs, demonstrating clear value and ROI to key decision-makers. Plenty of advice on methodology and pricing of proposals will be provided.
  • Closing and Negotiation: Assist in closing new business deals to consistently meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales quotas.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate strong, long-lasting relationships with new clients to reinforce our growth and our reputation as a client-centered, consultative partner.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities within the Singaporean and regional markets to identify new opportunities and inform sales strategies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Hunter Mentality: you love the challenge of securing “new logo” business and thrive on generating the high levels of sales activity needed to surface those opportunities. You understand that sales is both an art and a science—leveraging systems, data, and storytelling to win deals. You’re highly accountable and creative, and have a relentless drive to succeed.
  • Proven Experience: 5 years of successful experience in B2B sales, preferably within the Market Research, Professional Services, or B2B Information Services industry.  At least 2 years focused on outbound prospecting.
  • Track Record of Success: Demonstrable history of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and other outbound performance metrics.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to build rapport and establish trust with a diverse range of clients, from Manager through to C-level executives, across different communication channels.
  • Resilience and Persistence: A positive and tenacious attitude with the ability to handle rejection and persevere through challenges.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in using modern sales technology. Direct experience with sales intelligence platforms like Apollo.io and social selling tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator is a significant advantage. Experience with Salesforce is also valued.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
