Job Description

Responsibilities

  • responsible and accountable for the smooth running of computer systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs and timelines.
  • Hands-on role; proficient in both Windows & Linux systems along with Application Server & WebLogic Administration to be part of an infrastructure operations and maintenance team
  • Manage, proactively monitor & maintain systems and infrastructure
  • Install and configure operating systems, software applications and other tools
  • Web Server/Application server (WebLogic) setup, configuration, tuning, maintenance, and support
  • Inhouse Web application maintenance and support
  • Take proactive actions to ensure that systems and infrastructure meet high levels of availability
  • Plan and create strategy for security and redundancy
  • Liaise with various vendors or personnel for troubleshooting and resolution
  • Work closely with developers to implement custom scripts for fixes or automation
  • Familiar with operational processes: OS level patching / Application level patching / Operational housekeeping & archival
  • Familiar with Windows Active Directory
  • Knowledge of networking technologies (routing, switching, firewall and load balancer)
  • Knowledge in Java and Oracle DB administration will be an added advantage
  • Conversant with hands on VMware, Oracle VM, Windows Hypervisor clustering and configuration
  • Conversant with hands on RHEL 6 and 7 OS, Windows 2016 OS
  • Conversant with web/application server (Oracle WebLogic administration)
  • Strong knowledge on writing shell scripts and cronjobs for automation

Tasks Include

  • Aptitude in issue/impact analysis for problem resolution, Attention to detail, correction of error, monitoring and continuous improvement
  • Be on standby for urgent matters, and perform hands-on troubleshooting as required
  • Participate and contribute to Infrastructure Strategic planning and execution 
  • Ability to work independently
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent in command in written and spoken skills for both English and Chinese language skills (in order to liaise and converse with various Chinese speaking vendors or personnel for troubleshooting and resolution).
  • Good planning, communication, and documentation skills

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in information technology or computer engineering
  • At least 2 years relevant experience with a systems integrator or vendor
  • Minimum 3 Year strong hands-on experience in:
  • Webserver and Application server setup (WebLogic), configuration and maintenance. Experience in Web application deployment and Support
  • Independently handling Server Administration, Recovery, Server Troubleshooting, Performance Tuning, Migrations & Maximizing High Availability (HA)
