Job Description


  • Swimming Teaching
    • Conduct Group Swimming classes as per the group swimming class timetable
    • Develop and maintain private swimming lesson clientele, and conduct private swimming classes as per individual appointments
    • Source for additional Swimming Teacher cover as the need arises
    • Participate in monthly staff training sessions as scheduled
  • Swimming Coaching
    • Conduct squad training sessions as dictated by the head coach
    • Support the head coach in squad programs and swim meets
    • Plan and administer programs at the junior squad/senior squad level
  • Aquatics Administration
    • Actively promote all aquatic programs throughout The Club
    • Assist the Contract Swimming Coaches as required
    • Answer Member questions and follow up with timely phone calls regarding Aquatics programs and events
    • Assist with the swim program administration and any special swim events administration
    • Assist in developing new programs and events
    • Perform any other assignments/tasks assigned by the Aquatics Manager
  • Aquatics Events 
    • Assist with planning and executing the organization of Aquatics Special Events, Swim meets internal and external, Junior Lifesaving Awards etc.
  • Additional Lifeguarding/Counter Duties
    • Provide additional Lifeguard/counter cover and related duties as the need arises
    • Attend lifeguard training/workshops as scheduled by Chief Lifeguard



  • Babies, Learn to Swim and Stroke Correction Swimming Teaching Qualifications (AUSTSWIM/ASCA/American Red Cross/British ASA preferred)
  • Swimming coaching qualifications (ASCA level 3, NROC level 2 or equivalent preferred)
  • At least two years’ experience in Learn to Swim programs within the aquatics industry
  • Relevant and current industry qualifications in teaching, CPR (including infant/child) and first aid are essential
  • Excellent interpersonal/organizational skills with a focus on quality customer service
  • Able to commit to teach on Saturday/Sunday mornings and some weekdays when necessary
