Job Description

As the Asia Operations Support Manager for Micron’s System Integration team you will be responsible for managing all SIG functional area requirements in Asia.  The primary areas of support will include Contract Manufacturing (CM), Global Repair Centers, Quality, and management of the Field Service (FS) activities in the Asia region.  In this role you will be responsible for leading, managing, building and implementing the required support structure for Micron’s SIG business in Asia.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

Contract Manufacturing Support

  • Responsible for 24/7 regional support to provide continuity across world time zones
  • Enforce CM accountability to Micron/SIG’s engineering change management process
  • Collaborate and approve engineering solutions and improvements with CM
  • Drive compliance to SIG’s product requirements and specifications
  • Ensure timely closure of tactical action items to close issues and drive continual improvement
  • Participate in SIG’s overall strategic direction for contract manufacturing

Global Repair Center Support

  • Oversite of repair labs (MXA, MSB and MTB)
  • Maintenance and repair process
  • SWR and upgrade coordination

Quality

  • Ensure contract manufacturing sites and Global repair centers are following SIG quality standards and requirements
  • Support appropriate site audits/assessments as outlined in the SIG standards
  • Change and deviation management
  • Support transfer and installation of new products
  • Resource for supplier quality issues
  • Review first articles as needed

Field Service

  • Provide Equipment Installation Support
  • Develop a customer training plan for Probe/Test equipment
  • Ensure documentation is thorough and complete for remote customers                
  • Facilitate bi-directional communication between customer groups and SIG Engineering
  • Coordinate new equipment installation schedules, upgrades and\or modifications to meet customer needs
  • Generate Field Reports to document issues, equipment modifications or repetitive system failures
  • Respond to customer needs\requests within 24 hours to avoid long delays with remote customers
  • Monitor operational, maintenance and performance data, including customer passdowns, to understand unique processes\issues at each site
  • Qualify New Field Equipment and Upgrades
  • Assist with the development and deployment of system upgrades and\or modifications
  • Assist with prototype assembly and qualification
  • Assist with the development of customer maintenance and process procedures

Education

Bachelor Degree in Engineering

Qualifications

Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • A minimum of five years of back end manufacturing experience
  • General understanding of CM (contract manufacturing) business is preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of quality management systems (QMS) and ISO requirements
  • Knowledge of PCA manufacturing (SMT and T/H), systems assembly and test processes
  • Experience working with customers and with cross-functional groups
  • High level understanding of quality containment and the 8D process
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office package
  • Excellent people and project management skills
  • The ability to be self-motivated and to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Effective communication, organization and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of SIG Test equipment a plus
