Job Description

Job Purpose:

 

The job holder will be part of a team working closely with Workplace Safety & Health Council (WSHC) to develop, implement and review communication and media strategies to achieve its organisational vision, mission and goals.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Formulate and review integrated communication and media strategies to promote WSHC’s key initiatives and programmes;
  • Drive and coordinate initiatives to enhance both industry and public knowledge and ownership of workplace safety and health, including managing vendors, organising events, crafting publications and developing collaterals;
  • Provide strategic communication and media counsel, including building media relations, drafting & vetting of speeches, fact sheets, FAQs and providing advisory services for WSH Council’s spokespersons;
  • Monitor, assess and look into improving the effectiveness of communication and media strategies.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Tertiary education with at least 2 to 4 years of experience working in public relations, corporate communications and/or advertising-related field and/or publishing / copywriting.
  • Strong communications skills especially in written communications.Familiarity with the development of communication and media strategies to announce new programmes and initiatives.
  • Experience in leading events management and project management is also essential.
  • Possess a positive, dynamic and mature personality to work independently and well under pressure.
  • Keen interest in current affairs, new media tools and development, experience in occupational safety and health field.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health Act and related legislation would be advantageous.
