Overall Description

The Senior Finance Manager lead the GL team and will oversee the daily accounting and finance matters. Responsible for applying accepted accounting principles and procedures in closing the books, preparing accurate statutory financial reports and ensuring appropriate accounting controls are in place. The candidate will report to the Senior Director, Finance.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the GL function
  • Manage all grant processes, including grants submissions, tracking and reporting
  • To guide/lead the team to ensure that all transactions are recorded timely and accurately
  • Review GL journal entries such as accruals, provision and other adjustments.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, audit schedules and aging reports
  • Responsible for all statutory reporting functions including annual report and reporting to Group
  • Responsible for setting up of internal controls and ensure existing processes are in compliance with Group's policies and procedures
  • Assist in financial feasibility study on investment opportunities. Liaise with bankers on financing
  • Manage treasury functions, including cash flow planning
  • Work with internal and external auditors on risk assessments and management
  • Assist in all other ad-hoc assignments as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience, with at least 2 to 3 years of audit experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge in Financial Reporting Standards, with experience GST filing requirements
  • Able to lead and manage the finance team
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team
  • Solutions-oriented mindset and hands-on professional
  • Proficient in Microsoft excel (e.g vlookup, pivot table), and preferably knowledge of SAP accounting software
