Job Description

The Sales Supervisor is responsible for supporting our Retail Manager in managing our store operations and business performance of our Cosmetics and Perfumes stores.

 

Staff Management (People Development and Team Building)

  • Supervise, coach, develop and train the team members
  • Motivate team members to achieve sales goals which are specific, actionable and based on established KPI’s and strategic business goals
  • Drive sales and work in sales initiatives to maximize sales potential and achieve sales target
  • Communicate with staff regularly and encourage exchange of ideas
  • Promote and maintain harmonious staff relations
  • Recognize performance issues in a timely manner and work on necessary resolution
  • Monitor, discipline and counsel staff on their sales performances and code of conduct/behaviour such as
    • Knowledge of the products
    • Selling Standard
    • Customer Service
    • Complaint Handling
    • Team work
    • Compliance
    • POS handling
    • General working attitude
  • Schedule the team roster to maximize sales with matching traffic trend
  • Drive employee engagement
  • Assist Retail Manager in staff retention, development and job satisfaction level

Sales Management

  • Report team sales performance and plan to achieve the target
  • Work closely with internal teams to increase sales, such as promotions
  • Continuously motivate sales staff to meet assigned sales and productivity goals
  • Ensure consistency of selling and service standard and monitor staff performance to ensure that excellent service is maintained
  • Observe, coach team members to continuously work on service excellence and productivity
  • Stay aware of local trading environment and the impact on our sales, including competitors’ trading activities
  • Work with CS team to resolve customer’s complaints

 

Stock Management

  • Provide feedback to Retail Manager on inventory mix, best sellers to match market needs
  • Review merchandise assortment on a regular basis. Plan and take necessary steps to optimize stock level and stock mix to reflect sales, buying trends and customer demands.
  • Present merchandise in a manner consistent with company standards, in order to maximize sales and merchandise turn
  • Instruct, supervise staff in the correct execution of the operating procedures, including merchandising receipt, pricing, counts and sales

 

Store Operations

  • Responsible for strict adherence of policies and procedures relating to operations by all frontline staff
  • Comprehensive knowledge to operate POS (run reports, returns, credits, correct errors etc.).
  • Instill high standards of compliance
  • Work closely with security on STEB and LAG regulations
  • Work closely with Finance on cash and card handling procedures
  • Support all aspects of Loss Prevention and adheres to external and internal procedures for theft, inventory management and operations controls.
  • Instill high standards of compliance and hold teams accountable
  • Collaborate with brands on issues related to headcount planning, staff performance/discipline etc.
  • Ensure pleasant, attractive and safe environment in store
  • Work closely with VMD team to review Visual Display in shop floor
  • Ensure products are displayed in safe manner
  • Report to Retail Manager, Head of Operations for incidents/accidents in store

 

Administrative Management

  • Take necessary actions and steps to control costs and ensure efficient operations in stores
  • Responsible to check the time attendance of team members
  • Support internal procedures and shrinkage control guidelines to prevent stock loss/discrepancies
  • Support all security measures
  • Maintain good relationship with internal key stakeholders and brand partners
  • Maintain highest standard of housekeeping both on and off the sales floor at all times
  • Any other ad-hoc projects as per assigned

 

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience with supervisory capacity, candidates with travel retail experience will have an added advantage

  • Good knowledge in cosmetics and perfumes will be a plus

  • Good customer service focus and pro-active

  • Good team leader with positive mind set

  • Able to lead and coach

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skill with a good personality

  • Good presentation and delivery skill

  • Bilingual with the ability to speak a third language an added advantage

  • Able to perform retail operational hours which includes weekend and public holiday

  • Must be comfortable to work in Changi Airport
