Job Description

JOB SCOPE

  • Responsible to promote and contract meetings, conference and incentive group business through the booking of Group Guestrooms, meeting space and group social events within hotel owned restaurants or venues. Quote rates, negotiate agreements and terms of functions, commit facilities.
  • Achieve Room revenue, Food and Beverage & Rental Goals on a quarterly basis
  • Perform account retention within an existing database of specified territory assigned.
  • Prospect on new or existing accounts to generate new revenue opportunities for the hotel
  • Make presentations, conduct tours to various groups and organizations explaining and promoting our facilities and services. Explain and describe key selling features of the property to prospective client/ bookers.
  • Solicit and built sales pipelines; follow up on leads and secure group business.
  • Keep a high volume of Sales activities including telemarketing, conducting field calls, networking activities, (expectation is 25 per week) and correspondence via emails.
  • Maintain frequent contacts with established and prospective global clients
  • Represent Marina Bay Sands at business trade shows (local or overseas), presentations, sales trips, etc.
  • Identify opportunities & organize activities that will stimulate and retain existing business
  • Prepare regular and special department reports on revenues, booking trends, production and utilization of client blocks. Prepare monthly forecast on all booked business, whenever require.
  • Manage the planning of all promotional efforts including sales trips, mass mailings, cooperative advertising, off and on site client parties and training sessions
  • Coordinate advertising efforts with Marketing Department
  • Train, develop, and evaluate junior Team Members through demonstration, instruction, and coaching
  • Attend inter departmental meetings when requested. Including Sales Department and Unit Meetings 
  • Educate oneself in the industry by reading business trade publications, attending organizational meetings, interacting with members of the convention and meetings support industries
  • Update all sales activities on daily basis and this include details in Delphi System and submit weekly call report to DOS every Friday by 6pm.
  • Keeps the Delphi database up-to-date with detailed profiles of our MIC accounts with account profile including pattern of usage, historical growth, key contact person and contact details, competitor hotels used, rates, volume of support.
  • Attend and reply to all inquiries within 24 hours. 
  • Exemplify Marina Bay Sands standards to client, team members and industry peers
  • Performs any other duties assigned by Management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • College degree in Hotel Management or Business Administration preferred
  • Minimum one to two years’ experience in Group Sales
  • In-House: Delphi experience preferred
  • Possess leadership and negotiating skills
  • Possess interpersonal, communication, customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Possess organizational skills to manage several tasks at once
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Possess public speaking skills and maintain a professional image and enthusiastic attitude at all times
  • Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, and percentages. Apply concepts of basic algebra.
