Job Description

Responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of the team and working closely with cross-functional work-streams and stakeholders in driving academic projects in area of data analytics. You will also support the Academic Director in general administration and lab resources maintenance, e.g. website, applications and servers.

Project Management

  • Apply Project Management methodologies and approaches to manage project and set expectations
  • Drive the formation and gathering of stakeholders requirements and project/research scopes
  • Manage tasks, deliverables and project resources to meet objectives and timelines
  • Communicate status and timeline for cross-functional team understanding

Quality Control

  • Facilitate project hand-overs to professional IT Service Providers

Lab Management Support

  • Recruitment
  • Contracting, purchasing, payment and invoicing
  • PR, Marketing events and communications
  • Governance and compliances to SMU policies and guidelines, including IT security, compliance

Data Analytics

  • Support analytics project task and activities such as: data-mining, analysis, data accuracy and data model validating

Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Master degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related disciplines
  • Supply chain/logistics experience in Data Science/Analytics is preferred
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Stakeholder management, cross-functional project and analytical skills
  • Experience in website maintenance (HTML, JavaScript, CSS), Windows/Linus/UNIX operating system and command line tools
  • Experience in analytics and project delivery
  • Experience in management and student mentorship
  • Proficient in Database management system e.g. MySQL, MongoDB, MS SWL Server, Python or R
  • Proficient in programming for data science, statistics or modelling
  • Data visualisation tools or libraries e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Python and JavaScript
  • Able to multi-task/adaptable
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
