Job Description

Regional Sourcing Manager (position based in Singapore; US based MNC in Medical Consumables, Safety kits & Hardware tools)

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Global marketing team, the Sourcing Manager defines and implements the company’s sourcing strategy across his/her categories for Asia (non-China) supply base
  • Identify, source and develop new vendors and products in the region
  • This role directly supervise a team of product specialists/quality inspectors/supply chain planner across his/her categories 
  • Monitor day to day operation including supplier management, product development, quote sheets, sample verification, payment terms negotiation, on time shipment & quality assurance
  •  Manage the product cost negotiations with vendors and identify cost savings initiatives
  •  Evaluate vendor performance and optimize the vendor matrix

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in a business, marketing or engineering 
  • At least 8 years + of experience in Sourcing and Supplier Management roles, previous experience in a procurement role preferred 
  • Experience in the medical disposables & consumables supplies or cutting & safety categories is preferred
  • Strong trade record in Asia sourcing (not including China) especially in ASEAN countries
  • Strong knowledge in supporting North America & European retailers orders compliance and requirements
  • Strong factory base and knowledge of manufacturing
  • Strong leadership skills, excels at leading a multifunctional team to deliver results
  • Strong sourcing skills and vendor management
  • Demonstrate the key competencies like independent, strong analytical mind, mature, tactful, good interpersonal communications skills, good problem solving skills and good sense of priorities
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Familiar with Chinese Word Processing (preferably, not a must)
  • Willingness to travel and work in a global team set up
  • Good track record on sourcing, price negotiation, ability to deliver the results
  • Open to candidates based in Asean countries
