Broad Function

  • To lead the Quality Assurance and Risk Management initiatives and activities that safeguards patient safety and ensures delivery of safe care
  • To lead the development and spread of Care Path, Value Driven or Bundle Care
  • Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Identify existing and emerging clinical risks in the organisation and design corresponding risk management measures in line with enterprise risk management approach
  • Develop overarching policies that support organisation-wide adoption of relevant patient safety accreditation standards and good clinical risk management practices
  • Embed relevant standards and good practices in the daily operations of the organisation through  development and spread of Care Path, Value Driven or Bundle Care
  • Curate and populate the dashboards for Quality, Productivity and Innovation Committee (QPIC) on regulatory indicators required by MOH such as HPO/P4P, NHG such as IPSGs, and local performance indicators such as incident reporting
  • Interface with EPIC team or Department of Informatics (DOI) to extract information for Quality improvement and assurance activities
  • Review EPIC reports and utilise other EPIC tools such as “slicerdicer” to enquire real time safety information on patient care
  • Plan and implement a culture of self improvement for clinicians by propagating personal development dashboards
  • Lead the coordination and conduct of activities related to JCI standards, including audits, related committee meetings, documentations and related improvement works
  • Coordinate JCI standards cross audit within cluster and to prepare the Hospital for the survey
  • Review policies, work instructions related to International Patient Safety Goals in consultation with Chapter Leaders, Divisional Chairmen and CMB to ensure that it is compliance with the NHG standards and hospital processes. ISPG.1 – Patient Identification, IPSG.2 Improve Effective Communication, IPSG.2.2 Handover Process, IPSG. 3 High alert medications, IPSG.4 Correct site, patient, procedure surgery, IPSG.5 Health Care Associated Infections, IPSG.6, .6.1   Risk of Harm from Falls
  • To provide administrative, executive and secretariat support for the standards workgroups.
  • Monitor and review progress of clinical risk management programmes and adoption of standards
  • Support the coordination and conduct of focused audits
  • All other duties, as assigned by Reporting Officer



  • Recognised Degree, or Diploma in Nursing, Social Work or Allied Health disciplines
  • At least 5 years of relevant healthcare experience
  • Strong organisational, quantitative and analytical skills. Proficiency in basic statistics is a bonus
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills. Good team player
  • Meticulous, proactive and independent
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office applications
