Job Description

As an Manufacturing Central Team (MCT) Process Integration Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for providing leadership to the global Micron network to drive yield, product quality improvement, manufacturing efficiency through technical expertise, business process management and project execution

In this position, you will participate in product/process problem solving and drive PTS (Probe to Ship) and other yield improvement activities.  You are also expected to participate in business process improvement, networking activities and definition of performance indices (metrics) and drive them to closure. This is a generic job profile to define the job responsibility, your supervisors will communicate with you on the specifics.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Yield Improvement and Analysis

  • Work with yield engineering team and Identify PTS yield improvement opportunities
  • Analyze data, draw conclusions and communicate to the team and manager.
  • Plan and drive yield improvement activities and plans to meet targeted goals.
  • Closely work with BECE process, APTD and ADT team on those projects that may need technology development.

Maintain Communication and Customer Relations

  • Promote worldwide synergy at all appropriate opportunities. Look for efficiency gains and improved benchmark performance through joint problem solving, leveraging and improving the BKM, worldwide project management and system creation.
  • Maintain a strong and open relationship with peer group and managers in other functional areas within MCT and outside in areas such as Fab, IS, TD, Manufacturing network, Product Engineering, TPCE. Communicate and respond to issues in a timely manner.
  • Conduct meetings and facilitate/drive when needed to complete projects, address yield/parametric issues, improve business processes and fix tactical problems. Send effective action item lists, updates or results of the meetings.
  • Demonstrate ability to give effective presentations to both small and large groups on project updates and new initiative proposals. Communicate issues which impact Manufacturing in a timely manner and help drive to fix the issue where necessary.
  • Periodically follow up with manager to ensure all type of goals are met and get assistance to remove obstacles. Use all available resources to manage the successful completion of goals, including resources outside of the area.
  • Be prepared to give feedback and discuss action items during regular one-on-one meetings with your supervisor.
  • Develop external relationships to achieve new ideas and procedures to keep pace with Industry standards and method.
  • Travel to Micron Fab locations as necessary for face to face work.

Support Strategic Initiatives

  • Stay abreast of future technology and the corresponding technical challenges, existing problems and MFG plans to aid Fab readiness and success in process/product introduction and ramp.
  • Work with the BE and other functional areas on developing and improving strategic business processes with clear and agreed-upon business rules.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional initiatives or enabling projects that support PAC, MCT and Company objectives. Utilize tools, such as K-T Project Management, to plan, scope out, communicate and execute project objectives and deliverables.
  • Support and drive BAT activity within MCT and the BE Mfg. Help establish priorities and set direction.
  • Perform continual benchmarking to expose opportunities and develop new metrics for benchmarking BE Mfg performance.
  • Identify and share BKMs across departments and BE Mfg sites.

Support Tactical Initiatives

  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects based on BE MCT and corporate objectives.
  • Move projects effectively through project lifecycle – definition, planning, implementation, acceptance and review.
  • Motivate stakeholders and all project team members to take ownership of project and its successes.
  • Manage priorities and enhancements to improve business processes and existing systems that are global in nature.
  • Select best candidates for project teams. Define stakeholder teams.
  • Define metrics to gauge project success.
  • Maintain a portfolio of projects that maximizes ROI for the program and supports the Central Team and Corporate roadmaps.

Maintain Training and Development

  • Commit to continual self improvement in knowledge and skill on software systems and applications.
  • Learn and expand knowledge of fab process by working with other PI engineers, Process Engineers, and YE engineers.
  • Remain current on new process technology and traveler flows.
  • Learn and expand knowledge of device and part operation and testing. Be familiar with package development, failure mechanisms and how they correspond to assembly processing.
  • Understand the engineering career ladder and work to meet recommended requirements to be considered for future promotion.
  • Develop long-term career goals and work with supervisor to assure that you are on the right path to achieve goals aligned with department and company goals.
  • Develop and promote technical expertise in the group by supporting internal and/or external classes.
  • Mentor team members for technical development

Requirements

  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Engineering.
  • Highly motivated individuals with >3 years' working experience are encourage to apply
  • Back end or front end manufacturing experience required
  • Knowledge in Semiconductor Device Physics, and Fabrication. Understanding of NAND operation, product structure and product function. Front end process integration experience is preferred.
  • Good understanding of Assembly processes is an advantage
  • Good data extraction, analysis, problem solving, reporting and presentation skills. Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve structure and device related issues, and address root cause will be a plus.
  • Good multi-tasking, verbal and written communication skills. Fluent english speaking.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer/co-worker relationships. Successfully demonstrated teamwork skills with a strong focus on developing good team dynamics.
  • Good organizational capabilities and ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to be flexible with job responsibilities and take the initiative to assume added responsibilities
