Job Description

Extra•Ordinary People is a charity and Institute of Public Character (IPC) striving to enable and support persons with special needs. We adopt an ecosystem approach towards enabling and empowering youths with special needs to live independently, be work ready, work able and sustain employment. We strongly believe in providing a holistic support, including and involving parents/caregivers in the process.


Working in close collaboration with other professionals (therapists from other domains, job coaches, counsellors etc.) we are looking for dynamic and passionate Psychologists to join our team in journeying with these youths and their families.


Technical Competencies

  • Provides psychological services in an integrated therapy team, applying a wide range of psychological assessment and intervention methods for clients with complex needs
  • Provide consultancy and training for other professionals
  • Conceptualize services in collaboration with the integrated therapy team based on research and sector trends
  • Ensures psychological services are delivered in accordance to organizational standards



  • Conduct psycho-educational assessments for complex cases for diagnosis of neurodevelopmental conditions, for school placement and special requests, and / or to inform interventions
  • Formulate evidence based and data driven intervention plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team for complex cases
  • Evaluate and monitor progress to review effectiveness and relevance of intervention plan
  • Provide counselling and/or specific therapeutic interventions for complex cases
  • Provide training for caregiver, to address school and/or home functioning concerns
  • Provide regular feedback to caregivers to update on the client’s progress
  • Provide professional input in multi-disciplinary team discussions
  • Provide psychological expertise through training and consultancy work to other specialized departments and relevant professionals
  • Adhere to professional standards in clinical, legal, and ethical practices
  • Monitor staff adherence to policies and procedures for professional practices
  • Provide supervision to junior psychologist



  • Masters’ degree and above in Applied / Clinical / Developmental /Educational Psychology
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-graduate clinical experience in psycho-educational assessments and therapeutic interventions
  • Previous working experience in schools (mainstream and/or SPED schools) and experience working with youths with special needs will be an advantage
  • Registration with a professional regulatory board (e.g. SRP, AHPRA, BPS, APA)
