Job Description

Brief description

We are looking for an experienced Pastry Head Chef to prepare a variety of desserts, pastries or other sweet goods. Your skill in baking high quality treats should be matched by your creativity to develop new amazing tastes and recipes.

Tasks

  • Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, chocolates etc. following traditional and modern recipes
  • Monitor stocks for ingredients and make appropriate orders within budget
  • Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking
  • Guide and motivate pastry assistants to work more efficiently
  • Hire necessary personnel so that the kitchen function smoothly.
  • Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Assist in positive outcomes from customer queries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Contribute to controlling costs, improving gross profit margins, and other departmental and financial targets.
  • Run daily operations to meet existing production demands.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of previous experience as Pastry chef
  • Strong coaching skills
  • Pleasant personality with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong leadership, energetic, organized and self-motivated.
  • Achieved basic food hygiene certificate
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Can start work immediately
  • Salary S$4,500 - S$6,000
