Job Description

As a Part-Time Flexi Primary English Teacher, you will take Primary School level classes. Your responsibility is to teach classes (online and on-site) and attend training and observation sessions.

You will be paid by the hour. As such, monthly remuneration depends on the number of classes a teacher is taking.

 

The Flexi scheme allows:

  • flexibility in time
  • a lower commitment in the number of hours per week, but with the potential of earning a full-time remuneration.
  • For example, a teacher can earn between $1,600 to $4,800 a month teaching from 4 to 15 classes a week. Remuneration is also dependent on qualifications and relevant experience as well as the effectiveness of a teacher and the number of classes he/she is given.

 

A Part-Time Flexi teacher must be able to take at least 2 classes on the weekends (Friday to Sunday). Each class is 2 hours.

 

This position is suitable for candidates who want flexibility in their schedules, can commit the hours to be trained and take multiple classes and is preferably not holding a full-time job or doing full-time studies concurrently.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Singaporeans only
  • Preferably local university graduates (or equivalent) and above
  • Some classroom teaching experience preferred
  • Training is provided and compulsory
  • Ex- MOE teachers and ex-teachers of children with special needs are welcomed to apply

Role Requirements

We would require our teachers to be able to take up BOTH online and on-site classes.

Requirements for Online Classes

  • Owns a working laptop or desktop
  • Preferably owns a second screen (eg. TV screen, computer monitor)
  • Has conducive teaching environment at home
  • Owns a working earpiece / headset with microphone function
  • Technologically savvy and able to perform basic troubleshooting
  • Willing to communicate with parents on a regular basis

Requirements for On-site Classes

  • Owns a working laptop
  • Willing to travel to branches for classes (AMK, Parkway, Clementi, Bukit Timah)
  • Willing to communicate with parents on a regular basis

 

Training Commitments

  • Candidates must be able to commit to all live online / on-site training and assigned online / on-site class observation sessions.
  • Training happens on weekdays (Tuesdays / Wednesdays/ Thursdays) and class observation on weekday afternoons, Friday nights and weekends.
  • Candidates may need to commit time to watching pre-recorded training videos in addition to live training sessions.
  • Duration of training: Approximately 1 month (depending on the availability of a teacher-in-training and his/her rate of progress)

 

General Commitment

  • Willing to be trained (even with prior teaching experience) and attend numerous training sessions
  • Able to work weekends ­­­(Saturdays and/or Sundays)
  • Take at least 2 classes on the weekends
  • Willing to commit for a full academic year till the end of 2021

Teachers who perform well may also be rewarded with monetary incentives termly
