Job Description

The successful candidate will assist the Supervisor of the POC group and be part of a team managing all POC activities within the organisation.  You will be a point of initial contact for quality guidance and support on day-to-day activities across the organisation, assisting with the establishment and documentation of quality manuals, policies and objectives, including formulating a plan for POC activities.  You will have a role in overseeing all existing analysers and all new POC analysers.  All analysers are e-connected and result directly to patient medical records. 

 

Selecting and evaluating all POC analysers will be required as part of your scope of work.  Periodic validation of all deployed analysers is required to be performed, including the comparison with main laboratory equipment.  Compliance to hospital and laboratory accreditation programmes are essential.

 

The Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Life Sciences or equivalent
  • Experience with POC testing and clinical laboratory will be an added advantage
  • Good IT skills
  • Good planning and organising skills
  • Good communication, interpersonal and coaching skills
  • Service oriented and customer focused
