Job Description

Job Responsibilities

Design and develop machine to meet the system specifications (required by process/ automation needs) involving:

  • Design standardization
  • Costing and project planning
  • Machine and module conceptualization design
  • Design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA) and Concurrent engineering
  • Pneumatic/ hydraulic circuit design
  • Detail fabrication drawings, assembly drawings and layout drawings
  • Selection and sizing of standard components available off the shelf

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor/ Master of Engineering with minimum 5 years relevant experience
  • 3D solid Modeling, preferably Pro-E (others like Solid Edge, Auto Inventor, Mechanical Desktop, Solid Designer are also acceptable).
  • Good track record in:
  • Ultra High Precision machine design
  • High Speed Pick and Place mechanism design
  • Structural, kinematics and dynamic analysis and FEA simulation
  • Geometrical tolerance and dimensional analysis (e.g. stack up error)
  • Engineering material selection
  • Design troubleshooting
  • Application of analysis tools like FMEA, DOE

 

EXTENT OF TRAVELLING REQUIRED

Low to Moderate to provide technical support at customer sites

 

ASSISTANT OR SENIOR LEVEL POSITIONS

For Assistant and Senior level positions of similar Job titles, the minimum entry requirements may remain the same but with varying levels of experience required.   The scope – width and depth – of responsibilities will also vary accordingly.

For Senior level positions, it is usually incumbent of the job holder to undertake higher level responsibilities that may involve direct supervision, skills training, performance management as well taking the lead in Project work
