As an MCT (Manufacturing Central Team) Manufacturing Engineering Senior/Principal Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for guiding and continuously improving the performance execution of the Back End (BE) Network. This will be achieved by providing Back-end manufacturing experience and expertise. You will deliver Best Known Methods (BKMs) from the industry or your located sites and to the BE Network. These BKMs will be measurable and you must follow through to success. Other responsibilities include building networks to deliver tactical solutions, and ensuring a safe, compliant, and ethical work environment. End-to-End Cycle Time will be one of the primary metrics to assure the success of your role.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Responsible for Operational efficiency Improvement, Productivity Improvement and Lean initiatives across sites aligning to company goals.
  • Partner with site leaders to formulate and identify equipment efficiency improvement initiatives. Drive each sites constraint workstation to achieve continuous improvement. Strive to improve key performance metrics. For Example: Tool utilization; Cycle time; WIP management; Excursion/scrap prevention.
  • Joined develop and providing manufacuring requirement to integrated dispatching and scheduling systems with Operational Improvement project team, in order to drive productivity improvement. Provide feedback to develop manufacturing science concepts that improve line management and inventory dispatching/scheduling.
  • Lead cross functional team in project management that drive waste reduction/elimination and to achieve improvement in operational cycle time.
  • Promote and analyze data through statistical analysis to drive workstation and line efficiencies improvement.
  • Deliver BKMs from benchmarked site/Industry Best-In-Class to BE Network. Take responsibility for consult request from the Sites, and search cases that had been implemented for new BKM sharing
  • Provide Mentoring and Build Networks to Deliver Tactical Solutions. Mentor others and be able to clearly articulate complex ideas and issues to a broad audience.
  • Display a passion for consistent data analysis and presentation approaches that can be shared with MFG/IE/OI departments.
  • Support or provide training for the Manufacturing Science/Constraint optimization skillset development of the Network MFG Team.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree/ Master’s Degree or equivalent experience Engineering
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Backend Semiconductor Manufacturing/Engineering
  • Backend dispatching and scheduling system
  • Lean certified candidate and MTM/MOST practitioner
  • Working experience in Lean or Industrial Engineering fields
  • Must have the ability to manage without authority.
  • Good understanding of BE processes and Manufacturing Science (Floor dispatching/scheduling, Line Management, capacity planning, lean manufacturing, 6S, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical and good decision making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization and the network.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration with other groups, internally and externally.
  • Exceptional customer focus.
  • Advanced ability in Excel and proficient in using VBA Macros to enhance and automate tasks.
  • Proven ability to solve problems across multi-functional and multi-cultural groups within and outside the Fab.
  • Proven ability to continuously improve systems and processes by striving to increase output of the network.
  • Ability to foster strong relationships from cross-functional and multi-cultural groups.
