Job Description

  • Global Innovation Immersion Programmes (GII)
    • Develop and monitor workplans and budgets to achieve the KPI targets set for the various GII markets
    • Work with the marketing team to develop and implement marketing strategies to raise the profile and student interest for GII programmes
    • Assist in the development of market penetration strategies for existing and new GII markets including an assessment of potential partners that can accelerate the scale of the internship programme
    • Source and manage external partners, such as local and overseas IHLs, overseas incubators and accelerators, startups, mentors, trainers, relevant logistics partners (e.g. visa agents)
    • Visit prospective employers to promote the GII programme and at the same time evaluate appropriateness and relevance of the internship opportunities offered
    • Plan and conduct teaching workshops, networking events and internship placements for the GII students
    • Develop and improve on relevant programme policies and procedures and document them into a manual with regular reviews and updates
    • Monitor, review and analyze performance of the GII programmes regularly for management and external reporting
  • Management of Student Clubs
    • Provide strategic and developmental guidance for Student Clubs under the purview of the Institute
    • Main liaison between the Institute and the student clubs
    • Guide the Student Clubs in adhering to SMU’s financial, marketing and operational guidelines
    • Assist in the development and regular review of a manual to communicate relevant administrative, financial policies and procedures for Student Clubs
  • Administration
    • Track and report on the expenditure and key performance indicators of the education programme for management and regulatory reporting
    • Assist in management of grant pool for education programmes


  • Degree in Business, International Relations, Marketing, Education or related disciplines
  • At least 5 to 8 years of relevant working experience in programme management.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and manage a wide range of stakeholders and students effectively
  • Self-starter, mature and able to work independently, at the same time, an effective team-player
  • Good knowledge of budget, grant administration and financial management principles
  • Creative problem-solver who is comfortable with working in rapidly evolving landscape and projects loaded with uncertainty
  • Acts with a sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic start-up environment
  • Thinks beyond own area of responsibility examining linkages and interactions between different parts of a system
  • Up-to-date with trends in the education and innovation & entrepreneurship sector
  • Deep knowledge and network in the major innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem is a plus
