Job Description

  • Finance Administration
    • Train and guide Grant administrative staff
    • Oversee the finance functions including procurement, approval of expenditures, fixed assets and travel within SIS Institutes, Centres, Labs Initiative (ICLI)
    • Ensure procedures and practices are consistent with SMU and funders' policies and in compliance with statutory requirements
  • Human Resource Administration
    • Manage the HR functions of recruitment, selection and orientation of SIS ICLI researchers & staff
    • Establish a positive and healthy employee relations climate
  • Internal Grant Administration
    • Administration of SMU internal grants awarded to SIS faculty members
    • Collation of data on internal grants for reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree with minimum 5 years relevant experience
  • Experience in process/procedures implementation
  • Demonstrate initiative and exercise sound judgement
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to build rapport and trust
  • Excellent planning and coordination skills
  • Analytical and meticulous
  • Decisive, work well under pressure
  • Good team player
  • Ability to mentor junior colleagues
