Job Description

Position 1 : Manager, Corporate Services-Finance (Financial Planning and Analysis)

 

Job Purpose
This position will drive financial sustainability initiatives and act as a business partner to the various departments. He/she will also be in-charge of monthly preparation /analysis of financial statement, other financial simulation and drive the audit processes of the school.

 

Duties and Responsibilities
• Oversee a senior executive in the preparation and analysis of statutory financial statement other financial simulations
• Monthly review of accounts and all financial data of the units, in order to identify key areas of improvement and deploy specific action plan
• Prepare periodic Business Review
• Prioritize and target under performance units, working closely with Operations Managers on improvement strategies.
• Provide financial performance metrics for the units
• Develop benchmarking and comparison between units
• Monitor financial KPIs
• Support Financial Excellence and follow-up of Financial Excellence action
• Preparation of reports to analyze irregularities, deviation, and gaps
• Drive and manage the audit process and review/prepare the statutory accounts of the school
• Drive prepare/review ad-hoc financial simulation to support management decision, e.g. simulation for the master programmes, funding renewal or any other contracts
• Able to identify the cause-and-effect relationship between different aspects of the situation
• Improve on internal control, efficiency and effectiveness through process re-engineering or development/application of information systems
• Design/prepare visually appealing financial reports/presentation/dashboard 
• Improve Corporate Governance through streamlining and standardization of work processes
• Liaise with other functional managers to put the finances in context
• Drive/present to the Management Committee or other stakeholders to gain support in financial initiatives or proposal to promote long-term financial sustainability of the school

• Maintain and facilitate co-operative working relationships across networks and campuses
• Make self fully available, especially in difficult service situations
• Define roles, sets priorities, focuses on objectives for the team and translates overall goals into tangible activities for individual and teams
• Able to see patterns, trends when looking at information
• Provide task-oriented instruction to demonstrate to others to get the job done
• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned from time to time

 

Duration:
2 Years Contract (Subject to renewal / convertible)

 

Working Location:
• Nearby Botanic Gardens MRT (Tertiary Institution)

 

Working hours:
• 8.30am to 6pm (Mondays to Thursday)
• 8.30am to 5.30pm (Fridays)

 

Salary:
Open for discussion  *Depending on qualification & experience 

 

Requirements
• Possess a Degree in Accounting with professional qualification (Chartered Accountant) preferred
• Possess 10-15 years of relevant working experience, with at least 3 years of experience
• in the external/statutory audit field preferred
• Working experience or exposure to government linked organizations would be an advantage
• Possess strong proficiency in business partnering and financial control
• Possess strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Possess the ability to multi-task and work effectively with staff, internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Highly committed with good service-oriented attitude
• Demonstrate strong planning, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Demonstrate good organizational capabilities with an eye for details
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and SAP
• Possess knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS)

 

 

Position 2 : Manager, Corporate Services-Finance (AP and FA)

 

Job Purpose
This position will be in charge of the successful running of the day-to-day financial operation of the school.

 

Duties and Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage the day to day accounts payable and fixed assets operations and relevant reporting of the School including accurate and timely processing of all payment processes are in accordance to policy and guidelines
• Accounts Payable
o In-charge of smooth operation of payment processes such as Staff Claim, Purchasing card, Citibank Travel Account, supplier invoice
• Taxable Benefits
o Ensuring accurate filing of taxable benefits
• Fixed Assets
o Ensure accurate and timely recording in accordance to policy and guidelines
• Fixed Assets (such as D-WBS, intangible asset)
o Ensure the annual FA verification exercise is carried out accurately and timely
o Ensure year-end closing entries are accurate
• Reporting
o To ensure all reports and schedules are prepared timely and accurately
• Year-end closing
o Oversee year-end closing processes are properly carried out including journals and reports required for audit purposes
• Provide advice to internal customers or other divisions of the School on Finance related guidelines and policies including day-to-day execution of finance duties to ensure adherence and compliance with School-wide guidelines, policies and procedures
• Help staff members to understand their roles to ensure their contribution to the team and to coach and mentor staff for development including job rotation, job expansion to ensure finance related task are carried out properly and efficiently
• Engage in any other ad-hoc duties or projects as assigned from time to time to support School’s operation
