Job Description

As the Logistics and Finished Goods Director at Micron Technology, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to enable the error-free distribution of physical goods for both internal and external traffic requirements. You will provide leadership to systematically enable error-free packaging, inventory, and shipment for Finished Goods. In collaboration with the Back-end Leadership Team (BLT) and the Finance, Tax, and Sales departments, you will help formulate and implement budgets and policies based on company strategies. You will be responsible for ensuring legal, fiscal, and ethical compliance with regulatory requirements. Working closely with other departments and suppliers, you will help to ensure that customer requirements are met while maintaining product and service quality and consistency. You will negotiate and coordinate with external suppliers to alleviate global constraints while meeting costing goals. Duties will also include managing staffing goals and supervising other managers and staff, establishing and communicating department goals, this and monitoring overall performance.     

Responsibilities and Tasks

Provide strategic leadership of internal and external logistics

  • Develop strategies with the Back-end Leadership Team (BLT)
  • Innovate with internal and external suppliers and partners to meet global transport constraints
  • Develop, communicate, and implement BLT strategy in the Logistics department
  • Serve as Micron logistics representative for world-wide external vendor consortiums
  • Monitor transportation industry trends

Provide leadership of Finished Goods

  • Participate in strategy development with the Back-end Leadership Team (BLT)
  • Develop, communicate, and implement BLT strategy in the Finished Goods department
  • Ensure that policies and procedures are created, maintained, and followed
  • Administer systems to ensure error-free shipments
  • Interface with Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, Tax, and Logistics departments to meet customer and compliance requirements

Manage fiscal affairs

  • Oversee global supplier price and delivery performance negotiations
  • Ensure that financial controls are in place and are SOX compliant
  • Manage the Logistics & Finished Goods budget

Manage the Logistics supply chain

  • Negotiate and coordinate global shipping with external suppliers and partners
  • Ensure global compliance with shipping and trade rules and regulations
  • Coordinate with the Tax and Finance departments to comply with company financial and international customs requirements

Oversee Logistics and Finished Goods integration activities

  • Provide Logistics and Finished Goods input, direction, and project resources for mergers and acquisitions
  • Coordinate Logistics strategies with joint venture partners
  • Collaborate with the Tax, Finance, and Sales departments to establish sustainable systems strategies

Manage human resources

  • Support and contribute to developing, modifying, and executing company policies
  • Manage organizational structure, staffing, and culture within the Logistics and Finished Goods departments
  • Supervise other managers and staff through coaching and succession planning
  • Lead staff meetings, department meetings, and department communications
  • Allocate staffing and hire to fill gaps
  • Monitor the performance of employees and provide ongoing performance feedback, mentoring, and growth opportunities
  • Create performance plans and conduct performance evaluations
  • Enforce HR workplace policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Set and support workplace priorities
  • Drive accountability through clear communication, informal feedback, effective project management, and appropriate usage of metrics management, and appropriate usage of metrics Energize the work force with continuous updates, monthly all hands meetings, and sharing status of actions, projects and task on hand via systematized dash boards
  • Create people profiling to enable correct development plans for high potential and skilled work force (external and professional training and certification)

Ensure a Safe, Compliant, and Ethical Work Environment

  • Comply with company safety, labor, and ethics policies
  • Oversee execution of mandatory training for direct reports
  • Encourage a culture of safety and recognize contributions made to supporting a safe work environment
  • Participate in process improvement activities
  • Identify errors before they get to the next step
  • Provide timely feedback when quality, safety, or ethical issues arise
  • Follow and support company-wide and department safety procedures to maintain a clean, safe, and accident-free work environment
  • Promote high integrity processes that will enable immediate sharing of problems, issues and solutions with management team

Requirements

Bachelors Degree and above in

  • Business Administration/Management                 
  • Engineering - Management
  • Related field of study

10 years experience in each of the following:

  • Management/Leadership            
  • Production/Manufacturing         

International managerial and operational experience desired

Position can be located in Singapore or Taiwan ( Taichung)
