Job Description

As a Learning and Development Specialist at Micron Technology, Inc., you will build team member capability through the delivery of Learning and Development (L and D) solutions and will be responsible for governing and managing the systems, programs, processes, and standards that support team-member development. You will serve as a learning facilitator for courses with focus on Soft Skills development, mentoring and leadership development. You will collaborate with L and D Program Managers and Advisors to deploy and deliver learning solutions that are aligned to organizational objectives. You will also be responsible for the logistical coordination of courses, as well as for providing critical input to improve course content delivery. You will be expected to enhance Micron’s Learning and Development Solutions and building a Productive Learning Environment through engaging communities of practice for knowledge sharing, improving processes and standards, and providing facilitation consultation and mentorship for L and D peers.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Serve as an Internal Facilitator with focus on Leadership, Mentoring and Soft Skills Development

  • Partner with Learning and Development Program Managers to organize, promote, and facilitate learning initiatives and programs that are aligned with organizational objectives
  • Oversee the logistical aspects of solution delivery, including scheduling classes, monitoring request/enrollment levels, reserving training rooms, procuring materials, and maintaining participant completion statuses
  • Monitor inventories and provide budget requests for program materials used during facilitation
  • Recruit and mentor adjunct instructors to conduct learning for global course offerings; routinely evaluate instructor performance and provide feedback to stakeholders (adjunct instructors, program managers, and related leadership)
  • Monitor surveys and other evaluations to measure learning and performance as a result of learning initiatives       

Enhance Learning and Development Solutions and Delivery through Collaborative Engagement with L and D Partners

  • Lead and participate in a Learning and Development facilitation community of practice to bring together multiple facilitators from across the organization
  • Establish and improve processes and standards for effective facilitation
  • Provide facilitation consultation and mentorship for the Global Learning and Development community
  • Participate in content and quality assurance reviews for training interventions to ensure relevancy or to improve effectiveness

Manage Global L and D Operational Programs, Materials, and Resources to drive a productive learning environment

  • Benchmark program solutions and systems
  • Assess systems health for the purpose of continuous improvement
  • Be accountable for the creation, periodic review, and maintenance of programs, business process and standard documentation
  • Be accountable for the development, maintenance, and storage of program content and materials according to L and D standards
  • Be accountable for the development and delivery of program training to meet the needs of all levels of users
  • Serve as the point of contact for global contracts, coordinating with stakeholders where appropriate
  • Continually enhance domain knowledge to inform the future direction of the service area

Manage and Develop Global L and D Operational SMEs, Systems Administrators, and Stakeholders

  • Identify Program stakeholders and manage system and process expectations with stakeholders
  • Validate and audit access to systems
  • Communicate expectations, systems issues, etc. to team members and stakeholders
  • Prepare, develop, and partner with regional L and D systems stewards
  • Encourage and facilitate communities

Manage projects on a global/ regional scale

  • Design project plans aligned to business and organization “drivers” and goal
  • Align change management plan to project plan as needed
  • Perform needs analysis to identify business impacts on supporting requests or projects
  • Identify project sponsors and stakeholders and ensure advocacy and support
  • Determine required resources, recruiting and organizing project teams as needed
  • Lead or participate in project design and sub-teams to ensure deliverables and timeframes meet expectations
  • Communicate project status, goals, and overall effectiveness to stakeholders including “lessons learned”
  • Partner with external vendors and/or internal functions as needed to execute project plan


  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, possess initiative and ability to work independently
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience in Adult Learning, facilitation, coaching, mentoring is an advantage
  • Travel required occasionally, when needed
