Instructional Design Specialist (Educational Technology & Production)


We are looking for an engaging and passionate Specialist in realizing our vision of becoming the largest provider of pedagogically sound online digital learning content for the Autism Community and those passionate about their learning. We have started from scratch since 2015 and is on track to becoming the desired online learning community of which you’d be proud to say you have been part of.

 

Reporting directly to the Section Manager for eCampus team, the learning and development specialist will be instrumental for developing digital self-directed learning content, harnessing the best learning technologies and creative media available with the aim of maximizing the learning outcomes of all their online participants.

 

Responsibilities

  • Building and improving on current and future online digital learning content on our platform – Canvas (or any other platform which we may choose to subscribe in the future). You may need to work with educators and course developers to produce interactive and self-study materials for blended learning
  • Research and identify technology trends in the field of instructional design for education
  • Provide advice, guidance and implement pedagogical strategies and innovative educational technologies to produce instructionally sound solutions for both print and web-based learning formats for learners
  • Ensure all our online digital learning content are pedagogically sound which should lead to maximising the learning outcomes of all our course participants
  • While doing all the above, you must comply to organizational policies and SOPs and contribute proactively to meeting the department goals and KPIs. Communication is vital within our organisation for alignment and you should regularly give status reports on your projects and duties. Taking the lead from your HOD is important and you will be expected to work on any other responsibilities assigned by them


Requirements

  • Masters in Educational Technology/Instructional Design for Pedagogy and/or related disciplines
  • Possess 3 years of direct working experience in instructional design work that includes giving pedagogical advice on developing learning content, preferably for institutions of higher learning, or similar work environment
  • Adept in using Social Media/Web 2.0 tools
  • Keen interest in imparting knowledge and learning through working on building online digital learning content
  • Well equipped with instructional design principles and pedagogical strategies/adult learning theories for creating educational content and enhancing collaborative learning
  • Proficient in the use of learning management systems such as Canvas, as well as expertise in project management
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills
  • Hands-on, self-motivated
  • Able to work independently as well as working in a team setting
  • Desire to learn about autism and the passion to serve the autism community
