Job Descriptions

  • To manage and grow the business
  • Accountable for leading and developing the business
  • Develop strong, sustainable customer relationships with new and existing customers
  • Ensure prompt response to customer enquiries and complaints in a professional manner with corrective actions taken                                                                                    
  • Lead in continuous engagements and strategic interfaces with Key Accounts
  • Respond to Key Accounts enquiries, needs and complaints
  • Provide leadership in the areas of product and business development and daily management of operations locally: resource utilisation
  • Lead the development, implementation and localisation of key initiatives and programmes
  • Facilitate and support efforts in maintaining healthy relationships with trade bodies and government agencies & authorities
  • Establish KPIs for internal operations management and obtain agreement & commitment from staff and local management
  • Provide guidelines and support for implementation of programs such as security/ safety and ISO regulations to meet country mandated regulatory requirements
  • Negotiate with Vendors, Carriers/Suppliers on contractual and business arrangements according to corporate policy to meet corporate local requirements
  • Carriers/Suppliers contract, performance and relationship management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies and govt/port bodies
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies to ensure operations comply with all local regulatory requirements
  • Work closely with Heads of other departments/business units to generate business                   Leads and resolve inter-departmental business/operations issues
  • Provide technical expertise to other departments in cross-department activities/discussion           
  • Collaborate with Regional resources/heads to bring best expertise for closing deals and implementing solutions
  • Define, implement and monitor service and quality standards
  • Interact with Regional on pricing matters and respond to customer RFQs, RFIs & RFPs
  • Plan and develop strategies to support achievement of planned business growth
  • Brings knowledge to market to inform or stimulate markets and opportunities
  • Responsible for performance results
  • Defines, enforces and monitors targets
  • Select and assigns targets to key positions
  • Analyses costs and cost structure of product and derive actions for operating improvement
  • Supports Business Development and Sales teams, with competitive pricings and sales pitching for new businesses
  • Determine organization structure, roles and responsibility and performance targets for function
  • Develop a culture of quality, service excellence and teamwork, flexibility and cost consciousness
  • Manage allocation of resources and raise commitment of staff to the achievement of objectives and targets

Qualifications & Experience
  • At least Degree with more than 8 years of relevant experience,  with proven track records in leading Ocean freight/ Seafreight in large Freight Forwarding companies
  • Knowledge of industry and operations in local market                                                                   
  • Knowledge of local Custom rules and regulations                                                             
  • Knowledge of international trading and documentation practices
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Excellent product knowledge
