Job Description


The Global Accounting Center General Ledger Supervisor is responsible for the accuracy of company financial statements for multiple legal entities.
 
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the monthly closing activities in accordance to US Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (“US GAAP”) and local statutory requirements
  • Reviews monthly variance analysis including correlation to operational results and interaction with operational business units;
  • Reviews monthly reconciliations to ensure high quality compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP standards
  • Identifies and documents areas of concern within the reconciliation and develops corrective action plans where needed
  • Review self-audits to implement process improvement action plans
  • Manages transition of GL work from field locations into the GAC
  • Evaluates compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP methods; applies accounting knowledge to complex or unusual contexts; establishes company accounting controls and procedures; anticipates and addresses the impact of new accounting practices; advises others on accounting principles and practices
  • Liaises with internal and external auditors
  • Responsible for audit documentation, account analysis, annual financial statements and related statutory reports for both US GAAP and local statutory requirement;
  • Will manage a team of staff accountants to support region internal customer service goals meeting pre-established metrics

  • Ability to provide coaching to the team
  • Good leadership skills
  • Experience in designing and implementing new policies and procedures is a plus
  • Evaluates compliance to US GAAP methods; applies accounting knowledge to complex or unusual contexts


Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • 3-5 years of experience in GL accounting or public accounting required
  • Minimum 2 years hands on supervisory experience is required
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills required
  • Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant required or in progress
  • Experience in an accounting shared service environment preferred
  • Background in General Ledger work migration preferred
