Job Summary

The Facilities Controls Engineer provides engineering for design, operation, and trouble shooting of the following systems site wide:



  • PLC Control System



  • Process Instrumentation



  • Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition system

  • Fire Alarm and Public Address system

  • Toxic Gas Monitoring and Life Safety system

Job Responsilities:



  • Engineering is to include good design practice for state-of-the-art system designs, capability analysis, planning for future requirements, and code compliance. 




    •Responsibilities include working in a team effort with other engineering disciplines to provide detailed designs, sequences of operation, and specifications for the installation of new capital equipment and systems, this includes both performance of actual engineering and supervision/coordination of outside consultant resources.





    •Provide support for cost estimates and analysis of proposed projects.





    •Provides support for start up of new equipment, and ensures that all equipment will properly interface to other mechanical, electrical, chemical and gas systems.





    •Provide engineering and review of facilities work orders and provide support to operating personnel.





    •Responsible for maintaining various administrative and engineering data bases in support of job tracking, engineering data, capital equipment facilitation, and critical system loads and capacities. 





    •Specifies critical components for design projects and is responsible for assuring designs meet all applicable codes and regulations.  This requires continual review and analysis of new and existing, equipment, applications, and technology. 





    •Some generation of basic drawings using AutoCAD is required.





    •Provides code review and analysis utilizing (but not limited to): NFPA, FM, IBC, IFC, and NEC.





    •Performs research and development on emerging facilities technologies to support cutting edge semiconductor processes.





    •Participates in mid to long-term infrastructure planning for facilities in support of the overall company plan.





    •Is aware of and performs all work in accordance with company safety guidelines.





    •Engineer safety into all designs.


    Good communication must be maintained within the controls engineering organization, with other engineering disciplines, and with all customers throughout the organization.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent
  • 2 years experience in Controls and Instrumentation
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule workload and work on multiple tasks concurrently
  • Good organizational skills and Service attitude
  • Excellent communication skills and good team working skills
  • Self motivated worker
  • Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing and facilities systems
  • Fluent computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, database, and CAD packages
