Job Description

F&B Captain / Server Up to $2300 @ Sentosa (AWS + VB)

  • $1600 - $2300
  • 7am to 11pm (Monday to Friday), 12.30pm to 3pm on SUNDAY.
  • Sentosa

Job Responsibilities

 FINANCIAL RETURNS

 To have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage items in the menu and the ability to recommend Food & Beverage combination and upsell alternatives.

 To ensure that the outlet cashiering procedures are strictly adhered to

 Effective upselling of Food and Beverages

 Payments are handled accurately

 Converse with guests to attract return visits from guests

 

PEOPLE

 Establishes and maintains effective employee working relationships

 Communicates to his/her superior any difficulties, guest comments and other relevant information

 Attends and participates in daily line ups and other meetings as scheduled

 Attends and participates in training sessions as scheduled

 To assign responsibilities to subordinates implementing Multi Tasking principle and to check their performance periodically

 

GUEST EXPERIENCE

 Carries out effective service by ensuring:

o Guests are greeted and seated

o Guests name are used discreetly whenever possible

o Daily beverage specials are explained and up-sold

o Food orders are processed accurately

o Trays and tray jacks are effectively used

o Food and beverage orders are taken quickly and accurately

o Guest satisfaction are check during magic minute

o Guests are conversed with in relation to the food and beverage products

o Payment methods are handled accurately

o Guest preference are collected and updated

o Working areas are cleaned and re-set quickly

o Work Station is clean

o Used ashtrays are regularly cleaned if applicable

 

 Carries out effective beverage service by ensuring:

o Beverages are up-sold and regularly replenished, abiding by responsible alcohol service regulations

o Converse with Guests about wine, advising the types and styles of wine, taking wine orders and serving wine

o Promoting and selling cocktails to guests

o Making and presenting cocktails / if applicable

o Coffee and tea is served hot and in accordance with standard

o Patron care standards are adhered to by ensuring:

o Guests are advised on alcoholic beverages

o The strengths of alcohol is advised and guests are advised as to their effect

o Compliance with legal provisions of local liquor codes

o Level of intoxication of guests is assessed and appropriate action taken

o Advise guest on the hotel’s policy of smoking

o Monitor factors which interfere with the total experience of the guest.

o Communicate all incidents relating to guests to immediate supervisors

 

 Prepares for service by ensuring:

o Grooming is impeccable and in accordance with company’s personal presentation standards

o Outlet equipment is clean

o Equipment is sorted and stored

o Glassware is polished

o Requirements for special occasions are ready

o Music is on

o Lighting is on

o Outlet is ready for service and guest comfort

 

 Take appropriate action to resolve guest complaints

 To establish a rapport with guests maintaining great customer relationship.

 To assist the Restaurant Supervisor in efficiently managing the outlet according to the established concept statement providing a courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service at all times.

 Deliver Food and Beverage service of high standard and in accordance with departmental standards and procedures

 Take appropriate action to resolve guest complaints

 

 Carries out effective service by ensuring:

o Guests are greeted and seated

o Daily specials are explained and upsold

o Food orders are processed accurately

o Trays and tray jacks are effectively used

o Food orders are taken quickly

o Payment methods are handled accurately

o Working areas are cleaned and re-set quickly

o Bar is clean

o Used ashtrays are regularly cleaned

o Guests are conversed with in relation to the food and beverage products

 

 Carries out effective beverage service by ensuring:

o Beverages are upsold and regularly replenished, abiding by responsible alcohol service regulations

o Converse with Guests about wine, advising the types and styles of wine, taking wine orders and serving wine

o Promoting and selling cocktails to guests

o Making and presenting cocktails if applicable (eg.Sunday Brunch)

o Coffee and tea is served hot and in accordance with standard

 

RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS

 Demonstrate Awareness of OH&S (Occupational Health & Safety) policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines

 Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures

 Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly

 Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers

 Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirement

 Participate actively in all responsible business activities

 

Salary

  • $1600 - $2300

 

Working Hours

  • 7am to 11pm (Monday to Friday), 12.30pm to 3pm on SUNDAY.
  • 5 day work week
  • Shift work (no overnight)

Location

  • Sentosa

Job Requirements

  • Professional Certificate/ NiTEC, Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in F&B Service
  • Friendly and cheerful personality, possess good communication skills
  • Motivated and Friendly, able to communicate with guests and build rapport
