Devops Engineer (Consultant)

• 1 year contract, renewable/convertible
• Working hours: Monday to Friday, 830am to 6pm

Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Utilize various open source technologies
• Use various tools to orchestrate solutions
• Build independent web based tools, microservices and solutions
• Write scripts and automation 
• Configure and manage data sources
• Understand how various systems work
• Understand how IT operations are managed
• Managing source control 

Requirements:

i.    At least 3 years experience in DevOps environment with integration technology, automation and cloud coding languages;
ii.    Own the integrity and governance of systems, including best practices for delivering services;
iii.    Perform day-to-day operational administration of multiple complex multi-user cloud-based applications including user management, audits, patches, and upgrades;
iv.    Support applications hosted in an AWS cloud environment, including troubleshoot, deployments, patches, security checks, and maintenance;
v.    Write Infrastructure-As-Code to manage AWS Cloud resources and setup CICD pipeline for it;
vi.    Setup and configure metrics and logging dashboard to provide full visibility of system health;
vii.    Manage hosting estate to ensure availability and optimum performance;
viii.    Explore, propose and implement new tools to enhance DevOps activities; and
ix.    Work closely with development and engineering team to improve CICD process as required.

b)    Preferred Skills
i.    Strong hands-on experience setting up  AWS cloud networking and security infrastructure for secure and high-performance applications (VPC, Route Table, Security Group, Load Balancers, API Gateway)
ii.    Strong hands-on experience of setting up scalable and well-engineered applications on AWS using EKS, ECS Fargate with cloud-native storage and database solutions using S3 and Aurora;
iii.    Hands-on exposure to Infrastructure as Code, i.e. Terraform, CloudFormation;
iv.    Familiar with metrics and dashboard setup e.g. ELK, Grafana and Prometheus;
v.    Good understanding of CICD process and tools, including but not limited to Atlassian Bamboo, AWS Codebuild, AWS CodePipeline, and AWS CodeDeployWell-versed in Serverless framework, including its implementation in AWS Lambda;
vi.    Good understanding and hands-on experience with continuous security and integration checks, including but not limited to automated static code analysis using SonarQube, configuration mangagement through AWS Config, and network log analysis with AWS GuardDuty;
vii.    Experience debugging API-based micro services;
viii.    Have experience with PostgreSQL Databases.
ix.    Have experience in working in GCC; and
x.    Familiar with Agile delivery methodology.

c)    Certifications
i.    AWS Certified Solution Architect Associate or AWS Certified Security - Specialty
