Chief Executive Officer (Healthcare Industry)
Our client, an organisation in the Healthcare Industry, is seeking to hire a senior professional to fill the role of the Organisation’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Working with the Board and its Oversight Committees, the CEO provides strategic direction and oversight to the Organisation, and ensures the accomplishment of its mission and vision as well as value proposition and accountability of results to its key stakeholders.
The CEO will provide broad oversight to the Executive Directors of each Business Unit and facilitate the development of strategies for each of these Units. He/She should strive to build a collaborative organisational culture and a mind-set of cooperation across the Business Units revolving around the core values of the Organisation. He/She will also be recruiting for and setting up the Corporate Support Departments including Finance, Human Resource (HR), IT and General Administration, leading and coaching the management teams of these Departments in ensuring that they provide support to the Business Units, helping them to enhance their respective local and international brand and identity. He/She will establish frameworks and Standard Operating Procedures, including the creation of a governance framework covering data governance, funding and grant management, corporate, HR matters as well as managing enterprise risk and looking into succession planning. The CEO must also work closely with key stakeholders to effectively and efficiently translate policy objectives into implementation. He/She must manage resources and oversee the performance of the organization and report to the Board on the Organisation’s financial status, state of affairs, work plans and progress.
In addition, The CEO will support and work with the Organisation’s Business Units to ensure that national-level research & translation (R&T) programmes and emerging clinical services aligned to national strategies and objectives. He/She will also work with both research and clinical communities as well as across the public and private healthcare sectors.
The ideal candidate will should possess at least a Masters Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Biomedical Sciences). Having Postgraduate management qualifications is a plus. He/She should have over 15 years of work experience in a large corporation or an advanced research setting, where there is strong corporate governance in a complex operating environment. He/She should be familiar with and understand the national health and biomedical sciences landscape, with a minimum of 5 years spent leading successful biomedical research organizations / programs and groups.
The ideal candidate would be a strong leader with a demonstrated ability in management, formulating overall strategy and mission, creating and implementing organisational objectives, and effectively driving and managing change including building organisational culture and identity as well as strategic planning.
