Job Description

Beauty Advisors are the face of Sephora to our devoted customers. Knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic our beauty advisors provide a unique experience to our customers and embody the “Sephora Attitude" of Teach, Inspire & Play.

If you are passionate about beauty, skincare or makeup, and love interacting with customers, whilst being part of a professional and friendly team, we want to hear from you!

Working in a store is hard work – there’s no two ways about it. The testers don’t clean themselves. We pride ourselves on the energy and beauty of our environment, the availability of product, and the ease for customers of finding and trying out new product. We provide all our staff with rigorous training, and provide clear SOPs to ensure you are set up for success. With the store as a backdrop you are able to inspire customers to learn and of course to buy.

With a competitive compensation package consisting of a strong base salary and a sales commission, Sephora rewards you for your hard work and dedication. Your performance is evaluated against a clear set of metrics, including store environment, customer feedback and sales, and you are rewarded accordingly.

As a Beauty Advisor, you will have opportunities for promotion, both within the store to supervisor and manager positions and within other functions such as retail training, customer experience and artistry training.  Sephora can provide you with the stepping stone to the career you want.

Job Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Build and nurture a strong relationship with loyal customers through knowledge, attitude and service
  • Advocate for Beauty Pass, our loyalty program to every customer, to ensure they benefit from the exclusive offers and rewards
  • Share with customers our online portfolio and app, so that if products are out of stock in store customers are still able to buy
  • Represent Sephora with a professional demeanour – uniforms and make up standards are required!
  • Meet sales targets by understanding customers’ needs, providing expert knowledge in make-up, skincare, fragrance and offering product demonstration

Knowledge development

Sephora Beauty advisors are seen as trusted advisors by our customers. You will be given the training and self development opportunities to build your knowledge so you can advise customers not just on product pricing and on-going in store promotions, but on product selection, suitability and efficacy.

Store maintenance & operations

  • Operate the tills in a professional, timely manner and with highest level of respect for customers
  • Be familiar with and follow the Loyalty policies around such items as Birthday and Welcome gift redemption
  • Help restock shelves, clean fixtures, and check testers and prices are present in good condition.
  • Participate in the inventory process to minimise shrinkage and ensure accuracy in stock management & help keep the stock room in good order
