Job Description
  • Work with engineering to source for material that meet technical requirements, quality and cost budget
  • Support programs to obtain material costings during tender exercise
  • Facilitate engineering and QA participation in print review with supplier to ensure clear requirement definition of purchases before award of order.
  • Initiate supplier qualification and coordinate with QA and supplier to conduct the qualification
  • Evaluate, negotiate and award of orders to the selected supplier
  • Arrange for shipment/freight for materials ordered from overseas suppliers
  • Plan with warehouse on space requirement to store incoming materials
  • Work with MMD and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services to warehouse to meet material requirement plan
  • Participate in engineering change forum and follow up with workshops, warehouse, QA and suppliers to implement design changes on outsourced materials.
  • Drive supplier quality and coordinate with warehouse and supplier on return of rejected goods and re-delivery of reworked/replacement goods to warehouse, including documentations
Job Requirements
  • Diploma/ Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any relevant Manufacturing field preferred 
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications is preferred (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • A good Team Player 
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
