Job Description

Wine Connection is seeking a responsible Area General Manager to manage and oversee the day to day opertations of the company’s retail outlets and one restaurant  in accordance with the overall polices of the company. The focus would be to improve the commercial performance of the stores and restaurant by maximising its profitability, products and service delivery. The ideal candidate will be someone from Malaysian nationality as this position is based in one of the hottest and most exlcusive address in KL City. 

 

We are looking for someone who is dynamic, has relavant experience and is a self motivated, driven indvidual who can operate at maximum efficiency with very little supervision. 

The Area General Manager is responsible for the following:

  • Overall operations of the retail store, including opening and closing procedures, cleanliness, stock and wine ordering, menu accuracy.
  • Record order and issue invoice using standard invoice number set by HQ’s Account Department.
  • Arrange delivery of club member’s birthday wine monthly
  • Prepare monthly food product analysis, monthly item movement history report and corporate customer purchase summaries
  • Responsible for wine, food and beverage stock take, Stock Roatation (FIFO)
  • Ensure cash and security policies, administration, and financial procedures are adhered to, with relevant and accurate data being delivered on time
  • Liaise with neighbourhood restaurants and pubs for new business opportunities
  • Maintain effective regular communications with relevant personnel at all levels.
  • Identify and delegate responsibilities to staff to ensure objectives are met through excellent service
  • To ensure utilization of resources to maximize performance in outlets
  • Responsible for performance management system in the outlet
  • Responsible for advising staff on monthly departmental targets
  • Maintain and update standard operating procedures.
  • Oversees the overall operational activities of the outlet
  • Handle guest and staff complaints in a courteous and effective manner
  • Exceed standards in food quality, safety, and cleanliness through management of outlet
  • Manage Food & Beverage and Retail operations while promoting company’s culture and value
  • Coordinate strategic, and operational activities related to Food and Beverage and Retail
  • Train and develop staff in outlet to maximise performance
  • Lead and inspire individuals to be part of a committed team
  • Ensure that service team adheres and comply to company’s policies and procedures of F&B and Retail
  • Manage administrational duties such as keeping track of absenteeism and medical leaves of staff
  • Reviewing operational challenges to identify issues obstructing performance
  • Provide coaching and feedback to staff
  • Monitor and maintain the operating systems of the outlet
  • To maintain a sound knowledge of all menus and presentation standards for food, drinks and Wines
  • Monitor budget to control expenses in the outlet
  • Provide cost reduction strategies to manage the outlet’s expenditure
  • To prepare and oversee duty rosters
  • Ensure that there is sufficient petty cash in the outlet
  • Ensure all operational activities adhere to relevant legislations, health and safety regulations and licencing conditions
  • Carry out any other duties as per Area Retail Manager
  • Managing ERP related tasks and responsibilities as required in the role
  • Manage and oversee operational activities in the stores (Including restaurant activities as required)
  • Monitor retail stores and ensure company standards are adhered and applied
  • Develop and update company’s product knowledge
  • Provide practical solutions for operational challenges
  • Ensure that the sales goal is clear and achievable by staff
  • Proficient in the store’s operational system, including menu accuracy and stock rotation (FIFO)
  • Evaluate the performance of stores via outlet visits
  • Manage revenues and cost within allocated budget
  • Maintain effective regular communications with relevant personnel at all levels
  • Liaising with Human Resources regarding staff related issues
  • To be able to achieve stock control targets to prevent financial loss.
  • Reviewing operational challenges to identify issues obstructing performance

  • Ensure full implementation of induction programme for new all staff
  • Ensure that all staff adheres and comply to company’s policies and procedures
  • Responsible for overseeing wine, food and beverage stock takes
  • Ensure cash and security policies, administration, and financial procedures are adhered to, with relevant and accurate data being delivered on time
  • Liaise with neighbourhood restaurants and pubs for new business opportunities
  • Adhere to store’s operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees to improve on sales results
  • Assist in hiring process of ground staffs
  • Managing ERP related tasks and responsibilities as required in the role
