Research Fellow (Genomic Medicine) [LKCMedicine]

Research Fellow in the Laboratory of Associate Professor Joanne Ngeow
Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, a partnership between Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) and Imperial College London (Imperial) is training doctors who put patients at the centre of their exemplary care. LKCMedicine aims to be a model for innovative medical education and a centre for transformative research. The Laboratory of Genomic Medicine (CSB building) led by Assoc. Prof. Joanne Ngeow is focusing on hereditary cancer syndromes and translational clinical cancer genetics, help to understand how gene-environmental interactions prediposdes to cancer initial and progression. The lab is in close collaboration with National Cancer Centre Singapore(NCCS), developing human cell lines model to study disease-causing mutations.
Job Responsibilities:
Participate in several major research projects, assist PI in generating new research ideas and driving the research projects
Carry out research activities, design and perform in-vitro experiments and cell-based assays (cell cultures, western blotting, flow cytometry, microscopy)
Draft and write peer-reviewed journal publications and grant applications
Mentor and supervise undergraduate/PhD students and junior research staff
Present scientific work at local or overseas conference/seminar
Skills and qualifications:
PhD in Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics
Skilled in molecular biology techniques: mammalian cell culture, CRISPR-Cas, retroviral or lentiviral work, molecular cloning, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, Next-Generation Sequencing, Proteomics
Research experience in genetics, molecular biology and biochemistry
Strong academic record
Highly motivated individual with willingness to self-learn, self-driven and enthusiastic about research
Knowledge of statistical test/analysis
Team player with initiative in expanding job knowledge
