The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for identifying opportunities for IP creation and/or project collaboration with the intent towards commercialization. This entails in-depth research and validation of upcoming research and current technologies as well as assessing commercial viability and identification of potential off-take partners. The incumbent will plan and drive collaboration projects and initiatives to achieve the translation and take-up of new technologies/IPs from our institutional research pool. This role also entails managing overall consortium operations, leading the analyst and operations team and growing their capabilities to support SG MEM-led projects, events and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Strategy: Assess projects business case alignment covering analysis of research and current technologies as well as assessing commercial viability and identification of potential off-take partners. Initiate project collaborations based on viability & ecosystem/stakeholder readiness.

  • Execution: Accountable for the planning, execution, monitoring, control, reporting and closeout of SG MEM-led projects, events and initiatives.

  • Governance: Develop the framework for SG MEM projects and initiatives based off agencies grant criteria, institutional policies, legal and IP guidelines etc. that will enable and boost industry participation.

  • Provide miscellaneous support to the Programme Director of SG MEM for operational, risk management and stakeholder management, as needed.

Research Management

  • Lead and manage the consortium’s research efforts on membrane technologies, as well as membrane-related needs across a multitude of domains such as Bio-medical, Pharmaceutical, Oil and Gas, CO2 and the Environment, Food and Beverage etc.

  • Accountable for the due diligence and validation of SG MEM publications on membrane applications and adoption roadmap for specific domains and/or technologies.

People Management

  • Lead the analyst and operations team and growing their capabilities to support SG MEM-led projects, events and initiatives.

  • Develop team discipline and teamwork to deliver to commitments

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering/Science.

  • PMP or equivalent certification is advantageous.

  • Proven track record in delivering projects successfully, and consistently exceeding standard project metrices.

  • Meticulous planner with innate stakeholder management and influencing skills.

  • Minimum 5+ years of project management experience, with at least 2 years of people management (direct or matrix reports).

  • Experienced with business case analysis and crafting project proposals.

  • Proven ability to translate ideas into reality, or covert leads into tangible outputs.

  • Preferred experience in membranes, chemistry and/or materials technology.

  • Steadfast leadership traits such as willingness to step up and assume ownership of issues and drive to resolution.

  • Integrity and accountability mindset is absolutely essential
