The Chinese Banquet Chef is in charge of the Chinese Banquet section of the hotel and the duties and responsibilities are as follow:

• Supervise and participate in the preparation of all food items in the Chinese Banquet Operations
• Creating menus for banquet events
• Monitor quality and quantity of all products purchased to ensure freshness
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality standards of food items served
• Aware of cost control procedures and recipe development
• Ensure proper handling, cleanliness, and maintenance of work area and equipment.
• Work closely with Catering Sales Department to secure potential prospects
• Work closely with the Banquet Operations Department to ensure the smooth delivery of food items in banquet events

Job Requirements:

• Minimum, GCE ‘O’ Level (Preferably certified in culinary skills)
• At least 5 years of experience in similar field
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Knowledge of current trends in Cantonese cuisine
• Proficient in English and/or Mandarin
• Maintain hotel's standard, policies and procedures with department's personnel
• Work well with culinary and banquet service team to ensure follow up with corrections when required.
• Foster and promote a co-operative working environment, maximizing productivity and staff morale
