Assist with planning and implementing professional development programmes comprising workshops, seminars and events to enhance Postgraduate Research (PGR) student development through soft skills trainings.
Provide support on coordination of common core training on research methods and research integrity for PGR students.
Coordinate with vendors and provide pre- and post-event logistical and administrative support for PGR students’ trainings.
Coordinate annual PGR student events such as the Welcome Briefing & Orientation, “Kick-off” & Awards Presentation Nite, Collaborative Research Exhibition and Three-minute Thesis Competition.
Coordinate PGR student life engagement initiatives such as the Graduate Research Student Association, Student Life Award, DIY student-initiated activities, sports/social activities and PGR student space management at the Postgraduate Lounge.
Coordinate PGR recruitment events/information sessions and alumni cultivation activities, specifically in East Asia.
Assist with development of collaterals and management of social media platforms for PGR students’ professional development programmes, student life engagement initiatives and recruitment events.
Coordinate the Postgraduate by Research Graduate Employment Survey.
Coordinate student exchange for research courses and the Visiting Graduate Student Programme.
Any other tasks as assigned by Dean, Assistant Director or Senior Manager.
Bachelor degree, or equivalent.
At least 2 years of relevant experience.
Good communications (both written and spoken) and interpersonal skills.
Good command of the Chinese Language and familiarity with China social media platforms is preferred, although not essential.
Candidates who have experience working with students in an educational institution would be preferred.
Prior experience of event management is preferred, although not essential.
Independent, yet a good team player.
Good organisation skills with the ability to multi-task.
Resourceful, responsible, and meticulous, with good attention to details.
Candidates who do not possess the stipulated qualifications but have relevant work experience may still apply. Remuneration and appointment terms shall commensurate with qualifications and experience. SMU reserves the right to modify the appointment terms where necessary.
